My name is Joseph Kearns! I am a Christian apologist who is passionate about defending Christian truth is a reasonable manner. This blog is for that purpose, namely, to defend Christian truth. I am also aspiring to possibly do some writing one day. I am simply following the Lord's leading right now.
My approach to apologetics is Classical, such was the view of men like Augustine of Hippo, Justin Martyr, Tertullian, Origen, Thomas Aquinas, Anselm of Canterbury, and, to name a more recent example, the late R.C. Sproul. It means that I hold to the value of the classic proofs and evidences for the existence of God and the validity of the Christian faith. This is in contrast to presuppositionalism, which I believe argues in a circle, starting with certain assumptions and essentially arguing that one cannot have a coherent worldview without said assumptions. It's a prime example circular reasoning by it's very definition, or arguing on the basis of what one is trying to prove. That does not work.
Classical Apologetics, on the other hand, argues from a point of reference, making the least amount of assumptions possible and therefore appealing more to the reason of human beings, keeping in line with the idea in Romans 1 that man has no excuse to reject the existence of God. The evidence is all around him. I am a classical apologist.
